    Default Leather Wraps

I am thinking of changing the original linen wrap on a Mcdermott cue to leather. Does the conversion require modification of the cue that would make it difficult to return to a linen wrap in the future.

The reason for the change is strictly cosmetic, as I have no problem with the way the linen plays - it just seems to get a little tired after a while.

Anything else to be considered before making the change?

    Thanks.

Installing a leather wrap requires no other modification to the cue. The leather is the same thickness as the linen that is currently on your cue. Should you decide at a later date to return to linen, no problem. Just have it changed back.
Generally, the only time a problem arises is when a client wants a wrap on a cue that's never had a wrap and then later he decides he wants it back to wrapless. That's when it gets a little dicey.

KJ, I didn't want to start a new thread, so i will post my question here. Do you change wraps? I have a Schon STL-3 with linen wrap. The wrap is damaged, the line has broken in one place and it came out 1 inch, and after trying to fix it, I really think the sollution will be a new wrap. As I always wanted a leather wrap, now is my chance. Can you tell me, if it's possible, what kind of leather can you use, what is the time it takes, what is the procedure to send you the cue and what will be the total cost. Thank you!
